Kollu (Horse Gram) Sundal


Ingredients:-
Kollu (Horse Gram) -1 cup
Onion - 1 small (chopped)
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Mustard - 1/4 teaspoon
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Red chillies - 2-3 nos.
Curry leaves-  1 sprig
Asafoetida -  a pinch
Salt to taste
Grated coconut, 3 - 4 tablespoons

Preparation:-
1. Wash and soak horse gram in enough water for  5 to 6 hrs and pressure cook it or until well cooked.Strain water completely and set aside.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds, urad dal , Curry leaves , red chilli , onion and asafoetida and fry them for a minute.
3. Now add cooked horse gram(Kollu) and salt. saute for 2 or 3 minutes.
4. Turn off the heat, add grated coconut , mix well.
5. Serve Warm.
