Ingredients:-
Small onion - 6-8 nos
Dry red chilli - 2 or 3
Tomato - 1, small
Garlic pods - 3-4 nos
Channa dhal- 2 tbsp
shredded coconut- 1/2 cup
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Asafoetida - a pinch
Salt to taste

Preparation:-
- Roast channa dhal until it turns light golden brown color and keep it aside.
- heat oil in a pan, add onion, tomato, garlic and dry red chillies and Saute on a low heat for 5-6 minutes.Turn off the flame and let it cool.
- Transfer this mixture along with salt and rasted channa dhal to a blender and grind it to a smooth paste using little water.
- Heat the same pan with oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and urad dal and let it splutter.
- Then pour the seasoning over the chutney.
