Ginger Chutney

Ginger , chopped -  1/2 cup
Small onion - 3 or 5 nos
Dry red chilli - 2 or 3
Tamarind-  small gooseberry size
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Salt to taste

  1. Wash the ginger and peel it.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add Ginger, onion, tamarind and  dry red chillies and Saute on a low heat for 5-6 minutes.Turn off the flame and let it cool.
  3. Transfer this mixture along with salt to a blender and grind it to a smooth paste using little water. 
  4. Heat the same pan with  oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and urad dal and let it splutter. 
  5. Then pour the seasoning over Ginger chutney.
