Idly rice / Boiled rice - 4 cups
Urad dal - 1 cup
Aval or Cooked rice - 1/2 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Salt to taste.
Preparation :-
1. Wash rice and dal.
2. Soak rice, aval and Fenugreek seeds in one bowl and urad dal in seperate bowl for 6 - 8 hours.
3. First Grind the urad dal into fine paste.
4. Now Grind Rice , Aval/cooked rice and Fenugreek seeds .It should be smooth and thick.
5. Mix Rice batter and urad mixture, add little salt mix well , cover and keep in warm place.
6. Let it ferment for 8 more hours.
7. Spray some oil to each of the idli plate and put the batter to each cup of the idli plate.
8. Steam this in a idly cooker for about 10-12 minutes.
9. Now turn off the flame.
10.After 2 or 3 minutes, remove the idlies.
11.Serve hot with Sambar, Brinjal Gosthu and any other chutney.
