Ingredients:-
Small Crabs - 4 or 6
Sliced Onions - 2
Tomato chopped - 1
Green chilli - 3Coriander Leaves - few
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1tspSalt as per taste
Coriander leaves - few
Curry leaves - few

To Grind :-
Ginger - 1 inch
Cinnamon stick - 1
Cardamom - 1
Star Anise - 1
Bay leaf - 1
Cloves - 1
Corainder Seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Preparation:-
To Prepare Masala:-
- Take a frying pan. Add 1/2 tsp of oil. Saute cumin seeds, coriander seeds and fennel seeds.
- Add onion about a minute.
- Now add peppercorn, cardamon, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise bay leaf, Saute all of them for about 3 mins on low or medium fire.
- Add grated coconut.Once the coconut color changes to brown.
- Turn off the flame and combine all of them into the grinder.
- Grind all of them to form a smooth paste.
To prepare crab masala curry:-
- In a wide pan heat oil, add cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle add the curry leaves, onions and saute until they turn transparent.
- Add Ginger garlic paste and sauté well until the raw smell goes out.
- Add tomato, green chilli and salt and coriander leaves.Let it cook until mushy.
- Then add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Saute them for a minute.
- Add Masala paste into it. Mix well and saute for a min.
- Add the crab pieces and mix well until all the masala is well coated in the crab.
- Add 1 cup of water . Close the pan and cook for 5-10 minutes in medium flame.
- Once the curry starts leaving oil and Switch off the gas .
- Garnish with curry leaves or coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
- The crab masala curry also tastes great with Idly /Dosa.
