Crab Fry



Ingredients
  • Crab-cleaned- 200 gms
  • Onion-sliced- 1 cup
  • Green chilies- 2 
  • Garlic (Chopped) - 2 cloves
  • Curry leaves2 sprigs
  • Tomato-chopped- 1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves - 1
  • Saltto taste
  • Oil
For masala paste
  • Ginger (Chopped) - 1 tsp
  • Garlic2 cloves
  • Small onion - 2 tsp
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Chili powder- 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder1/4 to 1/2 tsp( see notes)
  • Garam masala powder1/2 tsp

Preparation:-


  1. Grind all the masala Ingredients to form a thick paste.Keep aside.
  2. Boil 2 cups of water  in a deep vessel. When its boil, add enough salt and turmeric powder to it.
  3. Add the crab to this and cook for 2-3 minutes. After that drain the water and keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, bay leaves,onion,green chilies, chopped garlic and curry leaves.Saute until it turns golden brown ,on a medium low flame.
  5. Add the masala paste and cook over a medium low flame for 4 to 5 minutes.
  6. Add chopped tomato and salt and cook until it turns soft.
  7. Add boiled crab and mix well.Cover and cook until it is done.
  8.  Increase the heat to high, and fry until the masala is dry.
  9. Turn off the flame and finally add chopped coriander leaves.
